Box 9.4: Budget Allocation for Social Investment by PTT Public Company Limited in 2023

PTT states in its corporate social responsibility strategy that it operates across two
dimensions: “(1) enhancing the quality of life in communities and society through human
and community development, and (2) driving toward a low-carbon society by promoting
conservation and restoration of natural resources and the environment.” However, a closer
examination shows that these initiatives align with all three dimensions of the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs). PTT has selected SDGs that closely reflect its business model,
allowing the company to optimize its contributions in the following areas: under the
economic dimension, it supports Goals 1, 2, 4, and 12; under the environmental dimension,
Goals 6, 7, 14, and 15; and under the social dimension, Goals 8 and 17. (All ten selected
goals are clearly displayed on the company’s website under its social responsibility section.)
